Every Monday, James would show up at work and immediately immerse himself in the world of incident response. What went wrong? Who is impacted? How did it occur? Besides being monotonous, he understood the impact it was having on his employer in terms of lost productivity and customer trust. He continued to think about how many of these incidents could have been prevented and wondered how many others out there were facing similar issue(s). He realized that the missing component was the awareness that stems from seamless customer communication and feedback.

He embarked on creating a demonstration product that provided a priority channel to customers, ensuring that the most crucial messages, whether changelog messages or otherwise, would never be overlooked. Simultaneously, he introduced functionality that opened the feedback loop, allowing readers to comment and vote on things. With this demonstration product, he successfully convinced his friend and collaborator, Tony, to come on board. Shortly after, he met Terry and proposed the idea of the company.

This team of co-founders rapidly developed into a close-knit group of collaborators, supported by a small but steadfast team of talented individuals.
